4. Efficient use of energy

Energy-saving appliances: Using energy-saving kitchen appliances (e.g. ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers) and pots and pans with high thermal conductivity.

Cooking with a lid: Cooking with a lid on the pot reduces cooking time and energy consumption.

Steaming: Steaming is not only healthier, but also more energy efficient than boiling in water.

5. Limit meat

Plant-based diet: Increasing the share of plants in the diet, reducing the consumption of meat, which has a greater impact on the environment than plant production.

Protein substitutes: Using alternative protein sources, such as legumes (beans, lentils, chickpeas), tofu, tempeh or seitan.

6. Minimizing plastic

Reusable packaging: Choosing products in reusable packaging or without packaging (e.g. buying in bulk at zero waste stores).

Food Containers: Storing food in glass containers, jars or metal cans instead of plastic.
