Implement water-saving techniques such as mulching (covering the soil with a layer of organic materials that retain moisture), rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, and watering early in the morning or late in the evening to minimize water loss through evaporation.

6. Recycling and reusing materials

Using available materials such as old pallets, crates, plastic bottles and other waste to build garden structures (e.g. raised beds, composters or plant containers).

7. Vertical farming

Creating vertical gardens that save space and can be particularly useful in urban spaces. The use of walls, fences and other vertical surfaces for growing edible and ornamental plants.

8. Use of native plants

Planting plants that are naturally adapted to local climate and soil conditions. Native plants require less water, fertilizers and pest protection, making them a more sustainable choice.
