How to avoid fast fashion - simple solutions

 Hey everyone!

If you've been checking in on this blog you probably know by now what fast fashion is and why it's bad. But how do you avoid it? Well, there are a few simple tricks that can help.

1.Learn more about the companies you buy clothes from.

It's the easiest way to check how the brand produces their clothing, but also keep an eye out, as they can be lying about their care for the environment, that has it's own term known as "greenwashing"

2. Shop from sustainable fashion brands

If a brand has the Fair Trade and Cradle to Cradle certifications, or atleast one of them, that means that the workers get a fair wage (Fair Trade Certification) and that the fabric was made to be easily recicled (Cradle to Cradle Certification).

3. Buy used clothes

Thrift stores and charities had existed for a long time, clothes that people don't use or just can't fit into anymore are often given to these places, you can also buy used clothes online from sites like Vinted, or just check the Facebook Marketplace, who knows what you will find.

4. Borrow or rent clothes

This expands on the previous point, if you need an outfit you will wear like... onec or twice why should you waste money on buying for example a brand new dress when there are renting companies, not only will this not take up space in your closet, it's cheaper as well!

Well, that's all I have for this topic. Hope this helped anyone looking to save the environment,

Signing out, Oliwia
